ARTIST’S RENDERING

For the past two years the Rose Garden Restoration Committee has been working steadily towards the design of a pergola for the Central Park Rose Garden and we are excited to announce that construction of it has begun.  The photo above is an artist’s rendering of the proposed pergola.

Thanks to the support of volunteers, the business community and individuals like you, the garden has become a beautiful place and this year is no exception. We have received many compliments about how terrific and inspiring the garden looks this summer. Each new addition has been exceptional and the pergola will be a magnificent addition.

The pergola will enhance an existing thoroughfare through the garden and create a much needed place to display climbing roses. Additionally the pergola will provide an elegant and aesthetic garden backdrop to the adjoining hillside and become another beautiful place for wedding ceremonies and photo opportunities for visitors and family gatherings.

The Rose Garden Restoration Committee has raised a substantial amount thanks to the Carlilian Foundation towards our goal of $245,000 for the construction of the pergola. As a friend of the garden we are asking you to consider digging a little deeper to help us reach our goal so that the pergola project can be completed by November 1, 2016. A rendering of the pergola appears above.  Any amount that you can contribute towards this project will be greatly appreciated.

Gifts of $1,000 or more will receive special recognition on a Friends of the Garden Donor Plaque. As you already know the rose garden is a unique public garden and without the support of true friends of the garden like you, a project of this caliber would not be feasible.
